Supervised Workers Licence is the licence for you!

An applicant who enters into the OTSR Licensing & Qualification Pathway, will be issued with a Certificate III, Electrotechnology, Systems Electrician at the completion of practical gap training requirements.

Presentation of an OTSR will allow an applicant to apply for a Supervised Workers Licence and therefore ESV deems a person exempt from the Safe Working Practices component of the Licensed Electrician's Assessment (LEA) due to their assessments already undertaken.

You may apply to ESV for a Supervised Workers Licence, upon presentation of your OTSR, together with the application form.

Offshore Technical Skills Records are issued as a result of the person undertaking assessment prior to arriving in Australia, which provides an exemption from the SWP in Victoria.  This process is an alternative to the Trades Recognition Assessment assessment which occurs after a person arrives in Australia.

Following working under supervision for a period no less than 12 months, the person during this period is required to complete the:

Licensed Electrician’s Theory & Licensed Electrician’s Practical with EPIC Training Board or NMIT.

Following this, the applicant will then fall into the criteria required for an Electrician’s Licence, of which you will be required to present to ESV in order to be upgraded:

OTSR Certificate obtained via Vetassess/Victoria University

Certificate III, Electrotechnology, Systems Electrician, as awarded following required Gap Training, identified as part of the OTSR process

LEA Certificate of Completion (or Capstone Assessment)

AND 12 Months Wiring and Installation work evidence in Australia – employer support under the Supervised Workers Licence

The above licensing pathway is considered as acceptable by ESV for licensing for OTSR applicants only, which are issued by Vetassess or Victoria University.
