What do I need to do?

Any person in the business of electrical contracting or offering to contract must be registered as an electrical contractor.

At ESV, we know that a registration will change from time to time, therefore, in order to change your registration, we provide the following information to help you. Most changes are now available via our Online Services, however, you must scan and attach the requested documentation in order for the Online request to be successful.

  • Do I need to update my insurance details?

Changing to a Partnership?

Send ESV a letter, fax or email (on letterhead, where possible) which details the change to the registration, which should also include, the partners names, address, updated Certificate of Currency.

Once the change has been approved, you will be forwarded an updated registration card. However, you must return your original registration card, in order for us to send you the new one.

Changing to a Corporation (Company)?

Send ESV a letter, fax or email (on letterhead, where possible) which requests the change to the registration. In order to change to a Corporation, we do require a little more information, which is as follows:

  • ASIC Extract which provides information on the Directors & Secretary of the Company Updated Certificate of Incorporation for the Company.
  • Update Certificate of Currency/Insurance Evidence.
  • The change to a Corporation must be signed by Director or Secretary of the Company, or alternatively a suitably authorised person to act on the Director’s behalf. This information, must include acknowledgment of the following:

By changing to a Corporation or applying as a Company, the registration number allocated will remain with the company and the ACN to which it has applied or is updated for. It can only be continued as a result of Changing the Company Name, and retaining the same ACN. It cannot be transferred between different company names.

Therefore it is required by ESV that this condition applied on Corporation Registration is noted by all Electrical Contractors.
