Compliance certificate or gasfitting notice?

If you are a licensed gasfitter seeking to obtain a gas supply for a gas installation at a customer’s premises in Victoria, you are required to submit either a Gasfitting Notice to Energy Safe Victoria or issue a Compliance Certificate (from the Plumbing Industry Commission) whichever is applicable.

The type of building or application involved and the complexity of the installation determines whether a Notice or a Certificate is required. For some situations both a Notice and a Certificate is required. Compliance Certificates apply to ‘standard gas installations’ and Notices apply to ‘complex gas installations’.

The requirements for Certificates of Compliance and Gasfitting Notices apply to for both Natural Gas and LP Gas installations.
