Electrolysis
Part 9 of the Electricity Safety Act 1998 (the Act) contains provisions relating to Cathodic Protection Systems, Mitigation Systems and the constitution of the Victorian Electrolysis Committee. Section 93(1) of the Act prohibits the operation of a Cathodic Protection System unless that system is registered with Energy Safe Victoria in accordance with the Regulations.

This code of practice describes the operation and procedures used by the Victorian Electrolysis Committee (VEC) to administer the Electricity Safety (Cathodic Protection) Regulations 2009 in regard to the registration of both cathodic protection systems and the mitigation system.
