Can I still renew my Occupier’s licence?
Yes. Existing licence holders can renew their licence, but failure to do so by the renewal date will result in cancellation of the licence.

It is your responsibility to ensure your licence is current and that ESV has the correct contact details for you.
Energy Safe Victoria must cancel the licence of an electrical worker who does not apply for renewal of the licence by the renewal date specified on the licence card.

Everyone holding an Occupier’s licence must work in accordance with the regulations and legislation.
Part 3 of the Electricity Safety Act 1998 states:
A Certificate of Electrical Safety for either prescribed or non-prescribed electrical installation work must be completed by the licence holder for any electrical installation work carried out on the occupier’s electrical installation.
The licence holder that completed the electrical installation work must certify on a certificate of electrical safety that the electrical installation work complies in all respects with the Electricity Safety Act 1998 and Electricity Safety (General) Regulations 2019 and has passed all of the required tests.
Where prescribed electrical installation work is carried out, the licence holder must engage a Licensed Electrical Inspector to undertake an electrical inspection.
