Affected batteries
The affected LG batteries are recalled by LG Energy Solution Australia Pty Ltd (LG) and SolaX Power Aus Pty Ltd (SolaX).
The recalled batteries can overheat and catch fire without warning and can cause serious injury or death. Incidents have occurred in Australia and caused property damage, with one house being completely destroyed by a fire linked to an affected battery.
Extreme bushfire risk is likely with the predicted hot and dry summer and the consequences of a fire caused by an effected battery could be severe.
There are thousands of affected batteries yet to be found that have been supplied in LG branded, non-LG branded and unbranded solar energy storage systems. If you have a solar energy storage system, check it to see if you have a recalled LG battery in it. If you’ve checked your LG battery before, check again as the recalls have expanded recently.
