Working with us
We pride ourselves on being an Equal Employment Opportunity employer committed to providing a safe working environment and embracing diversity. Be a part of our diverse team and make a difference to Victoria’s community!
Supporting our people
We pride ourselves on providing flexible working options to assist you with balancing your work commitments with your family, wellbeing, studies and lifestyle.
We also recognise that our success depends on our talented people, driving a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive work culture, so our workplace policies address the lives you have outside work, as well as the lives you have while you work here. Our workplace policies cover working from home, purchased leave, study leave, and flexible working arrangements. So, if you need extra leave for an overseas holiday, or need to study for an upcoming exam, or perhaps you need to adjust your hours to make the school pick-ups, we have a policy framework to accommodate this.
"ESV has supported me with flexible working arrangements since I joined in February 2019. I have 2 young children and when deciding to pursue a career change I needed to ensure that the company I work for were family-friendly.
ESV has delivered, with the policies in place to back up arrangements. I use flexible work arrangements to enable me to work from home, so I can fulfil my role as a mother alongside my work responsibilities. I am proud to work for an organisation that has strong employee-focused principles and thank my colleagues for their support too."
– Kerri McDonnell | Gas Safety Officer
"At ESV I am supported by my team, manager and the executive to perform in a senior role on a part time basis, including working remotely some days. This flexibility ensures I can deliver on the expectations of the organisation while still being visible at home and looking after my young family.
Although there are times when the demands of home and work life compete, I have only ever experienced empathy, understanding and support from our people and management. Flexible working arrangements are firmly established at ESV. Staff across teams readily accommodate each other for days in or out of the office.
Fundamental to our way of working is a view that achieving the desired outcomes via collaboration is key. I feel both valued and respected for the work I do, and the contribution our team's work makes to the organisation and to the safety of Victorian people."
– Anitra Robertson | Senior Partnerships Advisor
Supporting the Community
We partner with the people of Victoria; raising awareness and driving behaviour change in relation to energy safety, we seek to support other organisations with core values of active community involvement and delivering positive outcomes to all segments of the community.
We sponsor AFL Victoria because of it’s wide-reaching support of community football and regional community programs in general. We are also delighted to directly help community football clubs become more energy safe with grants for canteen appliances.
AFL is almost a state-wide religion, so we leverage our partnership with AFL Victoria to communicate important community messages and educate the community about using gas and electrical safely.
