Energysafe Victoria and Rinnai have become aware that, for one Victorian installation in a domestic home, the Energysaver flue system was installed contrary to Rinnai's instructions.
This resulted in products of combustion emanating into the space being heated rather than vented to the outside atmosphere due to pooling of condensation in the flue pipe which caused a blockage in the flue pipe.
This could present a Carbon Monoxide (CO) risk to occupants, especially if room vents are sealed. Rinnai is seeking gasfitters to identify affected installations and contact Rinnai to register and address.
